Installing Fender Letters

1964 Cadillac Eldorado

Installing the letters on the 1964 Cadillac Eldorado is typically an easy job if the fender is off the vehicle. For our Eldorado, that is not the case.

The alignment of the drilled holes and letters, which was previously done by someone else, was not done correctly as you can tell. We didn’t want to remove the fender from the vehicle either, and it seems impossible to gain access behind it where the letter studs clip in. So what we did is used some trim adhesive on the studs and pushed them into the holes, taping them to the fender, while the adhesive sets. Once it set, we removed the tape and the letters are now installed to the fender. Although it’s not a perfect job, it will do with what we have for now.
