Here we have a wonderful piece of artwork from Kathy Shaw.
This is a rusty, 1959 Colorado license plate with acrylic painting of a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado SeVille.
Kathy is a native Montanan, who grew up in the mountains of Lincoln, and recently moved to Lewistown, Montana, with a dream to create more of her artwork.
She has been drawing since she was a kid. Of course, back then she was all about horses! They were her favorite animal and still are today. She loves creating art that shows the heart of the creature. Kathy started with pencil drawings and then moved on to pen and ink. She then moved into pastels, and that turned into one of her favorite mediums, as she loves the detail she can get with it.
Her primary focus now is acrylic painting on rusty metal. She got into painting on metal through her father, who is a blacksmith artist. He developed his own way of welding on metal, old and new, and asked Kathy to collaborate on a few pieces with him. Since then, she started collecting her own pieces of old, rusty metal and has painted on them. Searching the countryside for old pieces has turned into an adventure and Kathy enjoys turning scrap metal into a work of art!
