How To Test A Cadillac Ignition Switch

Classic Cadillacs

In this tech tip video, Josh will show you how to test a Cadillac ignition switch. While testing two different switches (one good and one bad), he will show you what a good reading is on both the load and the power supply. You want to make sure you are passing the full amount of current that the load takes. This will allow you to determine whether or not you have a bad ignition switch. In addition, Josh will take apart a bad switch and show you what the problem was on the inside. Josh will also show you a quick and easy job of how to swap out the ignition switch lock cylinder for replacing. This will allow you to either use your old key in a new lock, or replace a bad lock cylinder in a good lock.
